Managing Director’s Profile
Mr. Ben Tan
Mr. Ben Tan has served as Managing Director of Mahajaya since 2018, bringing over 30 years of leadership experience in corporate finance, strategic management, and property development. Holds a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Accountancy and Business Systems Analysis, from the University of Wollongong, Australia. A Chartered Accountant, he is a Member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), a Fellow Certified Practising Accountant of CPA Australia (FCPA), and a Fellow Member of the Malaysian Institute of Management (FMIM). Since joining Mahajaya in 1993, he has played an instrumental role in shaping the Group’s growth, including leading the successful listing of Mahajaya on the Main Board of the then Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange in 2004.
His leadership philosophy is founded on three core principles: integrity, sustainability, and value creation. Mr. Ben Tan believes that prudent financial management and strategic planning are essential to building resilient businesses while delivering quality developments that exceed the expectations of customers and stakeholders. Henry Tan has served as Project Director at Mahajaya since 2017, bringing exceptional leadership and vision to the organisation. Holds a Master’s degree in Civil and Structural Engineering from the University of Sheffield in UK, he has consistently demonstrated his expertise in implementing innovative techniques that enhance the functionality and sustainability of urban developments.
His leadership philosophy is founded on three core principles: innovation, quality, and people. Henry Tan views innovation as essential to improving daily life and addressing modern construction challenges while maintaining unwavering quality standards that exceed both consumer and stakeholder expectations. Recognising that people are Mahajaya’s greatest asset, he has fostered a work environment that prioritises professional growth, teamwork, and employee satisfaction.
