Mahajaya welcomed the Year of the Wood Snake with a retro-inspired dinner brimming with happiness, friendship, and celebration. The evening was filled with touching speeches, lively games, and a series of lucky draws, creating an unforgettable kickoff for the new year.

7 February 2025 – Kuala Lumpur: The Mahajaya Chinese New Year Dinner 2025 was truly remarkable as employees and leaders came together to celebrate the Year of the Wood Snake with joy, prosperity tosses, and a hint of retro style. Taking place at B’York KL in G Village Desa Pandan, the event beautifully combined tradition, friendship, and festivity, marking a happy beginning to the lunar new year.

A Friendly Welcome and Motivating Speeches

The night began with a friendly introduction from hosts Haziq Zulkifli and Hoi Ling, who brought lively energy to the event. Wearing retro costumes, guests were welcomed with cheerful music and a vibrant ambience. The program started with speeches from Mahajaya’s Managing Director, Mr. Ben Tan, and Project Director, Mr. Henry Tan.

Mr. Ben Tan thanked the team for their hard work and commitment while sharing an inspiring personal experience. Mr. Henry Tan then followed with an encouraging message that recognised the company’s successes from the prior year and inspired everyone to approach the new year with hope and determination. “Tonight, we are celebrating not only the Chinese New Year but also our shared achievements and efforts,” he mentioned.

Lou Sang and Group Photos: A Representation of Togetherness and Success

A key moment of the night was the traditional Lou Sang activity, led by YY and Hoi Ling. Guests joyfully tossed the yee-sang salad into the air while chanting phrases wishing for prosperity like Yat Fan Fung Shun (Smooth Sailing) and Ng Fok Lam Mun (Abundance in Wealth). The colourful salad and the united cheers represented wishes for a thriving year to come.

Before the Lou Sang activity, a group photo was taken to capture the happiness and unity of the Mahajaya family. The retro-themed outfits added fun to the pictures as team members showed their creativity and festive spirit at the decorated photo area. There was also a popup photo booth outside the hall with quirky props for all attendees.

As the group photo session wrapped up and dinner was served, guests swiftly lined up for the scrumptious buffet prepared by the organisers. The delicious Western menu delighted everyone, featuring a variety of rice dishes, spaghetti, chicken, soup, and a selection of desserts and drinks.

Next, the dinner transitioned into an entertaining games session led by May Fong, which ignited a competitive spirit among the guests through five fun games that filled the room with laughter and cheers.
