Mahajaya and IWG Forge Strategic Partnership to Bring HQ Coworking Space to Megan Salak Park
In a major commercial real estate milestone, Mahajaya and the International Workplace Group (IWG) collaborate to introduce premium coworking solutions to Desa Petaling, strengthening the workplace ecosystem in Kuala Lumpur.
14 January 2026 – Kuala Lumpur: Mahajaya has officially signed a strategic partnership with the world-renowned serviced office and coworking provider, the International Workplace Group (IWG), marking a significant step forward in enhancing its commercial and mixed-use property offerings. The collaboration will bring IWG’s globally recognised HQ coworking brand to Megan Salak Park, one of Mahajaya’s signature office and commercial centres.
Strategic Expansion of Flexible Workspaces
Under the terms of the agreement, Mahajaya will lease two office units, totaling up to 6,000 square feet, within Megan Salak Park. These spaces are set to be renovated and transformed into a modern coworking environment under the IWG HQ brand, a first for the Desa Petaling vicinity.
According to Mr. KC Tan, Real Estate Manager of Mahajaya, the partnership aligns with market demand for flexible business environments. “With its excellent location, conveniently accessible via the KL-Seremban Expressway, and essential amenities all located nearby, Megan Salak Park has gained attention from SMEs as their preferred business destination,” Tan said, emphasising that the introduction of HQ will elevate workspace options for businesses of all sizes.
IWG Brings Global Expertise to Local Market
From IWG’s perspective, the collaboration represents both strategic growth and a localised opportunity to support Malaysia’s evolving business community. IWG’s HQ brand is known for its flexible, design-led coworking spaces that cater to professionals, scaling companies, and enterprise teams alike.
Mr. Vijayakumar Tangarasan, IWG Country Head for Malaysia, Indonesia & Brunei, expressed confidence in the partnership’s potential. He stated that this expansion into Megan Salak Park supports IWG’s goal of making flexible workspaces accessible within key business districts, and highlighted the company’s commitment to fostering productivity and community. “We see great potential in Desa Petaling as a dynamic business hub,” Mr. Vijayakumar noted, “and our HQ space will offer members a professional environment that drives collaboration, creativity and growth.”
Community Engagement & Ceremony Highlights
The signing ceremony was a simple yet meaningful affair, attended by representatives from both organisations. Mahajaya was represented by its Managing Director, Mr. Ben Tan, while IWG’s delegation was led by Mr. Vijayakumar. The event commenced with the arrival of the IWG team and a custom backdrop panel, followed by the formal exchange of signed documents.
Following ceremonial proceedings, attendees gathered for a group photograph to commemorate the partnership, before concluding with a refreshment session at Mahajaya’s Mcafe, offering an opportunity for informal networking between Mahajaya staff and IWG representatives.
Long-Term Vision for Megan Salak Park
This partnership underscores Mahajaya’s continued focus on building mixed-use environments where businesses thrive alongside residential and lifestyle amenities. With construction and fit-out plans underway, the HQ coworking space at Megan Salak Park is expected to open later soon, offering flexible office solutions that range from shared desks to private suites.
Mr. KC Tan said the collaboration with IWG reflects Mahajaya’s broader strategy to future-proof its commercial assets and respond to evolving work patterns. “Today’s professionals value adaptability and community in the places they work,” he noted, “and together with IWG, we are excited to deliver that experience right here in Desa Petaling.”
