Mahajaya & Forum Group Set to Unveil Landmark Sports Hub at Taman Damai Utama
This new partnership aims to bring together education, wellness and community life through a world-class sports facility, by placing recreation, learning and lifestyle at the heart of Taman Damai Utama in Kinrara, Puchong, Selangor.
19 September 2025 – Kuala Lumpur: In an exciting development for community living, Mahajaya has formalised a partnership with Forum Group to develop a major sports hub in Taman Damai Utama in Kinrara, Puchong, Selangor. When completed, this facility will offer a blend of elite sports amenities and lifestyle elements designed to bring residents closer together.
A Sports Facility for All
The plan is for the hub to include 16 badminton courts and 4 pickleball courts, along with a pro shop, office space, and supporting amenities. One of its key strengths will be its location: immediately adjacent to the LEAD International School at Taman Damai Utama, enabling students, staff, and residents alike easy access to world-class sporting facilities.
Design and safety have been emphasised from the outset. Courts are being built to international standards, with sufficient clearance zones, well-planned walkways and circulation, and safety features that prioritise user experience. KC Tan, Real Estate Manager of Mahajaya, noted that “from the start, we envisioned the sports hub not only as a facility for games but as an extension of the community’s heartbeat,” adding that the proximity and proposed linkage to the school “complements academic learning with physical growth and wellness.”
Partnership that Enriches Community Life
Forum Group will not merely lease and manage the facility; its role is much more holistic. Beyond arranging bookings for courts, the group intends to introduce lifestyle components such as casual gathering spaces, community event programs, and leisure-oriented features, to ensure the hub is more than just a sports venue but a place where neighbours connect.
Mahajaya expects this collaboration to set a benchmark for what integrated community lifestyle development should look like. “We want to assure residents and players that these are not ordinary courts,” said KC Tan, who revealed that every detail, from rest areas to the outdoor pickleball VIP court, is being planned with an eye toward long-term use and high performance. The goal is for the hub to rank among the highest quality sports facilities in the Klang Valley area.
Vision & Aspirations of Forum Group
“At Forum Group, our passion has always been to build sports communities where people can connect, play, and grow together,” said Sarah Sheah, Director of Forum Group. “Partnering with Mahajaya allows us to bring that vision to life on a larger scale, creating spaces that promote healthier, more connected lifestyles.”
Sarah shared her high hopes for the new hub, envisioning it as “a place where families gather, young athletes discover their potential, and communities bond over a shared love of wellness.” For Forum Group, the project is about more than just sports, it’s about fostering health, inclusivity, and community pride. The space is designed to welcome everyone, from competitive players to casual users, parents, and children alike. Planned programming includes coaching clinics, inter-school matches, weekend leagues, wellness activities, and family-friendly events, ensuring the facility serves both everyday recreation and larger local tournaments.
Long-Term Commitment & Impact
The partnership spans an initial 12-year term, with options to renew, which indicates that both Mahajaya and Forum Group are committed to a long-term community investment rather than a short-term commercial venture. Construction is expected to begin soon, with full operations projected by early 2027.
For Mahajaya, this project underscores its mission to transform its developments into integrated communities where lifestyle, wellness, education and recreation come together. As KC Tan put it, “people don’t just buy homes; they choose communities,” and through initiatives like this sports hub, Mahajaya aims to continue building places that residents are proud to call home.
